Come ride our gentle horses with friendly, knowledgeable guides in the
Land of Enchantment. In May we travel from our home base in Lajitas, Texas,
to enjoy the cool mountains of Taos, New Mexico. Our location is on the
slopes of the Taos Ski Valley where the Sangre de Cristo Mountains rise
13,000 ft. above us. Enjoy beautiful vistas from trails that wind among
the pines and high country meadows.
Whet your appetite with a one hour ride or, better yet enjoy a two hour
trip along Bull of the Woods Creek. Our three and four hour trails actually
go above tree line to alpine meadows dotted with wildflowers. For the more
adventurous riders, we offer all day trips to either Wheeler Peak (the
highest mountain in New Mexico), or to the Gold Hill area where you can
have your picnic lunch and watch for the elk and bighorn sheep that frequent
the area. All this and more is waiting for your enjoyment.
Combine your horse trip with a stay in the Taos Ski Valley. From it's quiet,
relaxed atmosphere you can explore the surrounding area. Taos is world
famous for its art, Native American culture, and international ambiance.
Visit Taos Pueblo, take a white water raft trip, enjoy great food, and
much, much more.

1 HOUR
This ride is geared towards
beginners and children. Meander among tall aspens next to laughing
brooks. Our focus here is to provide you and your family with a safe, gentle
introduction into the world of horseback riding.

All aboard for family
fun! Enjoy crisp mountain air as we follow rushing streams upward towards
their birthplaces among the flowers in a high country field. Perfect
for all skill levels…grab your hat and come join us.

Our most popular ride,
this one gets you above tree line. After riding up the mountain through
pine forests, we break out into lush alpine meadows. The views of
Northern New Mexico from here are simply breathtaking.

LUNCH
Truly a quality experience…no
rushing allowed. A gourmet saddlebag picnic served on top of the world!
This is where we shine. After climbing to the top of Gold Hill, we serve
lunch and enjoy the vista from 11,000 feet. Naps have been
known to occur in this idyllic setting. A combination of a spectacular
ride with a leisurely lunch…..Perfecto!

This is the trip that
allows a true wilderness experience. Come saddle up for a day exploring
the high peaks of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. We have seen elk, bighorn
sheep, deer, and other wildlife on these rides. Although experience is
a plus, it is not needed to enjoy this adventure. We bring the lunch… you
bring the camera.

Reservations and
Cancellation Policies:
Advanced reservations for any trip is strongly recommended, though not
always required. A deposit in the amount of 50% of your total trip cost
is required to hold your reservation. The deposit becomes non-refundable
after 72 hours prior to your scheduled trip time and longer for Specialty
and Multi-day trips. Often your Stables will issue an open ended
Credit Voucher for the deposit amount, in hopes that you will come and
join us at one of our Stables in the future.
